I’ve got to cut some drive shafts and always though you had to weld the 2 parts together, then slide a sleeve over. Don’t you find this required and the sleeve on it’s own is enough?

IMO it's better that way rather than the original idea. I would think that taking the latches off the ali container and having them on the steel would have "broken" the homologation. Probably not worth the effort sinking it in but where's the fun in that?

I think it's worth keeping the center of gravity as low as possible and if 3 inches is all you can get 👍 for that project you gotta remember liquids are heavy

I like your install. Lower is always better, even if only 3inches. Just because you asked for different opinions, what about turning it 90° and moving it to the passenger side, could you then have lowered it further because it would be next to the drive shaft? I was going to say £40 but then I would of just had a custom radiator made especially if your charging £80-100 for that modification like the comments suggest, in total with that Ducati radiator and that proposed £100 labour your probably well over £250+.

I think my local fab shop is £80 an hour labour plus consumables etc. pretty tough to go just on that basis though as there’s so many variables involved some times.

Depends on how much the customer has previously spent with you. Brand new customer £95. Long standing previous customer that's spent good money. £40.

I wouldn’t charge by the hour as it doesn’t factor in your experience. It too 30mins because your experience has taught you how to be efficient. I think £80-100 is probably on the mark.

Based on £50 p\hr, so half an hour = £25 + £10 for consumables + 15% OH&P = £40

80-100 I’d expect is fair. And if the customer expects less, don’t devalue yourself. You’re charging for the experience and skill in knowing what you’re doing. Not the half hour it took to do the job.
